He has a PhD in economics from the University of Georgia. He is an economic researcher and a consultant for economic affairs in the private sector. He was the leader of privatization in Jordan and supervised the privatization of the Royal Jordanian Airlines and Telecommunications. He held senior positions in Jordan; he was the Head of Economic Research and President of the Royal Scientific Society. He was nominated Deputy Minister of Labor, Cabinet Minister of Supply, Minister of National Economy and Labor, Minister of Information, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of Foreign Affairs. He was the coordinator of the peace process with Israel. He founded the Jordan Technology Group. He wrote articles and books about different topics. He is a lecturer at different local, Arab and international universities.
