He is a lecturer at Kuwait University. He taught the English language in Kuwait University and the Arabic language in Manchester University. He was consultant and interpreter at the National Assembly of Kuwait. He was  former Minister of Information in the State of Kuwait from 1999 until 2000. He was director of the Kuwaiti Media Center in London, UK and member of the Kuwaiti Journalists’ Association.  He is editor in the newspaper Al-Shareq Al-Awsat, London and in a number of Gulf newspapers. He is the publisher of ALAAN, the first online newspaper in Kuwait.
