The Arab Thought Foundation is a non-governmental independent foundation established in June 2001 (1422H). It was launched and founded by HRH prince Khalid Al Faisal. ATF’s headquarters are located in Beirut, Lebanon. It is a joint initiative between businessmen and intellectuals to promote Arab core principles, values and morals within the confines of responsible freedom. It is concerned with all fields of knowledge, covering sciences, culture and the arts. It works to bring together the intellectual discourses and cultural actions that advocate Arab solidarity, development and the preservation of Arab identity.
The initiative of establishment was launched in Beirut on 29/5/2000, upon the occasion of the celebration of the capital Beirut as the Arab cultural capital. Prince Khalid Al Faisal has called, in a speech pronounced during this celebration, for an initiative of solidarity between intellectuals and businessmen, adopted by an Arabic civil foundation, aiming to contribute to the Arabic renaissance and solidarity.
