Sultan Sooud Al Qassemi  from the UAE is country Chair of the Young Arab Leaders, an independent, not for profit organization dedicated to helping the Middle East’s young people realize their potential, enhance their employment prospects and develop the region’s human capital.  He is Chairman of Barjeel Securities, Dubai and Managing Director and Partner of a privately owned investment firm. He is also a respected international columnist and commentator whose columns have appeared in the following publications: The Financial Times, The Independent , The Guardian, The Institute for Strategic Studies,  The Huffington Post, The Hindu, The National (Abu Dhabi) and Daily Star (Lebanon) amongst others.  His engaging analysis of economic issues in his MoneyWorks column also attracts a strong following.

Sooud is a non-resident Fellow of the Dubai School of Government.  He holds a Masters Degree in Global Banking and Finance from the European Business School in London and a Bachelors Degree in International Business Administration from the American University of Paris.
