Christian Hadjiminas studied and worked in the US, graduating from Columbia University in 1981 in economics (magna cum laude) and gaining an MBA from Wharton business school, University of Pennsylvania. After working as a senior trader at Phibro-Salomon Inc. he set up his own company in New York before returning to Greece in 1989 where he established European Finance Associates (EFA).

EFA specializes in financial services, particularly offsets and investment banking, and is part of the worldwide offset organization ALBION, which designs, negotiates and implements offset projects in several countries primarily in high technology investments. The group’s investment banking activities are carried out by Altium Capital S.A. part of the worldwide Altium Capital group.

EFA’s companies in Greece include: Theon Sensors which specializes in electro-optic and thermal systems for defense and security applications; Epicos.com a global B2B portal for offsets and procurements in the aerospace and defense market; and ISI HELLAS S.A. (Interoperability Systems International Hellas) which designs real-time tactical command, control and communication systems, data link systems and simulator/trainers.
