Mohamed Mansour
MENA Regional Manager Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition Switzerland
Mohamed Mansour is MENA Regional Manager for the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), a Geneva-based organization dedicated to reducing malnutrition through food fortification and other sustainable business strategies.
Dr. Mansour has more than 25 years experience in public nutrition, both in his home country of Tunisia and in other countries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) as well as Sub Saharan Africa, Asia and the Caribbean. Prior to joining GAIN, Dr. Mansour acted as Senior Technical Adviser for Micronutrients and Food Fortification to several governments, non-governmental organizations and technical and UN agencies such as FAO, WHO, WFP, UNICEF, the World Bank, Micronutrient Initiative, and Save the Children/US. Dr. Mansour has been instrumental in the development of national nutrition plans in many countries across the world, in particular the early efforts of designing, planning and implementing flour fortification in most Middle East countries.
Mohamed was born in Tunisia and completed tertiary studies in the USA. He has a BSc Nutrition (Tufts), MS in Nutrition Planning and Policy (MIT) as well as a MSc Public Health Nutrition and PhD in Nutrition Epidemiology from Tufts University. |
