Nahed Mohammed Taher is founder and CEO of the Gulf One Investment Bank. Forbes magazine ranked her 72nd in the list of 100 most powerful women in the world and in 2007 she was named Saudi Businesswoman of the Year. This year she was ranked among the top 50 businesswomen in the world by the Financial Times and among the top 100 women in finance and leadership in crisis by Dow Jones.

During her career she has been a managing partner of Saudi financial advisory company Compass Consulting and a chief economist and chair of the Risk and Portfolio Management committee at the National Commercial Bank (NCB) in Jeddah. She has represented the Saudi government, the private sector, and the Chamber of Commerce at many high level international business and banking events.  Dr. Taher served as a professor and head of the economics department at King Abdul Aziz University.  She is a board member of a number of private companies and on numerous committees.

She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Lancaster, UK, and Masters degrees from Lancaster and from King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah.
